Both companies were combined and incorporated in 1998, with the current name of Degenhardt Home Improvement Co., Inc. Paul Vosen, President and Gayle Vosen, Vice President, are both long-term residents of the Madison area.Together, their goal is the continued growth of the company and community support. The siding market has changed drastically over the last 20 years, with the introduction of many new types and styles of siding. Probably the second "go to" product today is LP Smartside. LP Smartside is available in two different lap sizes as well as shakes. LP comes with a 50 year warranty, pre-finished color scheme, in literally any color you want.
Probably the biggest change in asphalt shingle roofing over the past few years has been the warranties. In the past, shingles were rated by 25 yr, 30 yr, 40 yr or lifetime warranties. Today's market offers all architectural shingle warranties as lifetime warranties. This has removed a lot of warranty confusion for our customers.
Pressure Treated decks are still a very popular choice for many home owners and contractors. They are very affordable and the new treated decking available today is kiln dried and comes pre-stained from the manufacturer. This innovative process greatly reduces the chance for shrinkage and warping of lumber.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE! After struggling to find a contractor to repair our rubber balcony roof, and after attempting to repair it ourselves, I came across Degenhardt on a NextDoor post. I reached out via their online form and I very quickly got a response back from Paul. We arranged for him to come take a look and provide a bid. He was on time, professional, and took the time to consider all the options.
Several days later he sent us the bid, which we felt was fair and in line with what we had been expecting. We approved and sent in the deposit. We expected it to take several weeks or even months before they would get to our job, and Paul even warned us of such. But only 7 days later, Paul reached out to say they could do the job later that week. The two-man crew showed up on time as expected and finished the job in about 7 hours.
The work was done neatly and cleanly! We are VERY HAPPY to get this project done after struggling with it all summer! We will definitely consider Degenhardt for future projects!
